About the clinic

The Cat Clinic of Roswell, located in the heart of historic Roswell, Georgia was one of the first clinics in the United States to be devoted exclusively to felines. Melinda Merck, DVM founded our veterinary practice in June 1990 for the sole purpose of offering exclusively feline medicine.

In March 2008, Dr. Michael Ray took over operations at the Cat Clinic of Roswell.

Dr. Ray is a Marietta native and graduate of Osborne High School. He received his bachelor of science at Georgia Southern University, and went on to graduate with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 1997. After graduation, Dr. Ray completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles. Dr. Ray has spent most of his career working in feline- only hospitals, and is very excited to have the opportunity to own his own cat practice. Dr. Ray lives in Marietta with his veterinarian wife, Jill, and his two sons, Jackson and Dylan; and 20 year old cat Delihah as well as two dogs

The Cat Clinic of Roswell is housed in a century old building where care is provided in a warm, homelike environment. Our well-educated, courteous staff are all devoted cat lovers who are dedicated to helping bring you and your cat the finest medical care.

All exam rooms have fireplaces, and exam tables are placed near windows, allowing your cat an outdoor view while being examined in a relaxed, stress-free environment. Patients and owners are never rushed – appointments are scheduled at 30-minute intervals to ensure that your cat receives a thorough examination and that you have time for questions.

Our doctors continue to research and to educate themselves about new threats and new treatments for felines. This dedication to continuing education means your cat will always receive the best possible diagnosis and care. Our doctors’ unusual intuitive understanding allows them to discover what is troubling a patient who only communicates in an unspoken language. Additionally, we have assembled an excellent team of technicians and office personnel who can help you with your feline needs and questions.

Geriatric care in cats requires specialized care and knowledge to help these wonderful cats maintain a healthy, balanced life. One of our primary goals is to provide care and treatment for older cats that will enhance their quality of life.

Our boarding rooms feature outdoor views from clean, comfortable cages. We also offer a limited number of larger enclosures allowing multiple family members to board together. Short and long term boarding is available, and we always encourage visits for both boarders and patients during their stay at The Cat Clinic of Roswell.
